Product types

Products are configured by CreditCore for your account. How a checkout behaves depends on the product’s type and billing options.

A single charge with no renewals.

The card is charged the product price immediately.
Transaction type: ONE_TIME_PAYMENT.
Customer status: SINGLE_PURCHASE.
Webhooks: TRANSACTION, CONVERSION.
A returning buyer with the same email and card is reused as the same customer.

Charged at signup, then renewed automatically.

The card is charged immediately and stored securely for renewals.
Transaction type: SUBSCRIPTION_START, then RECURRING_PAYMENT on each renewal.
Customer status: ACTIVE.
Next renewal: signup date + the product’s renewal frequency (in days).
If the first charge is declined, CreditCore retries the next day on another merchant account.
Webhooks: TRANSACTION, CONVERSION, then a TRANSACTION on every renewal.

A trial: the customer signs up now and pays later.

Nothing is charged at signup. The card is validated and stored.
Customer status: ACTIVE, with the first charge scheduled after the configured delay.
Webhooks: only CONVERSION at signup; TRANSACTION when the first charge runs.
The first cycle can use a different (e.g. discounted) amount.

A delayed-charge variant that places a hold on the card at signup.

An authorization for the pre-auth amount is placed (PREAUTHORIZED).
Depending on the configuration it is captured immediately (CAPTURE_PREAUTHORIZED) or voided after the first successful renewal (VOIDED).
If the first renewal fails, the held amount is captured.
If no merchant account approves the hold, the customer becomes UNBILLABLE.

Multiple subscriptions

By default a buyer (same email + same card) can only hold one active subscription per product. A second attempt returns ALREADY_SUBSCRIBED (HTTP 208). CreditCore can enable multiple subscriptions for a product; in that case the new subscription is billed on a different acquiring bank.
